Unidentified assailants attacked the residence of freedom fighter Abdul Kader Siddique, Bir Uttam, president of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, in Tangail in small hours of Sunday.
The incident took place around 1am at his house, ‘Sonar Bangla.’ According to the caretaker, Siddique was asleep on the second floor when 10–15 attackers began pelting bricks and stones at the building. The assailants then scaled the main gate with a ladder, entered the compound, and vandalized two vehicles.
Hearing the commotion, locals rushed to the spot, prompting the attackers to flee.
Tangail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tanvir Ahmed confirmed the attack. “We have already launched an investigation. Those involved will be identified and brought to justice,” he said.
