At least 15 Palestinians were killed after Israeli strikes hit Gaza’s Nasser Hospital on Monday. Among the dead were four journalists, one of whom worked for Reuters.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said the victims on the fourth floor of southern Gaza’s largest hospital was killed after two missiles hit one after the other, with the second one hitting when rescue crews arrived, report agencies.

Cameraman and Reuters contractor Hussam al-Masri was killed in the strikes, while another Reuter’s contractor and photographer, Hatem Khaled, was wounded, according to officials.

A journalist who freelanced for AP and other news outlets since the beginning of the war, Mariam Dagga, 33, was reported to have been killed in the strike. Dagga reported on Nasser Hospital doctors struggling to save children with no prior health issues who were wasting away from starvation.

Al Jazeera confirmed that its journalist Mohammed Salam was among those who were killed in the Nasser hospital strike, reports AP.

Located in Khan Younis, Nasser Hospital has been the target of numerous raids and bombardment despite critical shortages of supplies and staff in the 22 months of Israel’s military offence. Israel has struck multiple hospitals in Gaza, claiming it has been targeting militants without providing evidence.

Neither Israel’s military nor Prime Minister’s Office made any immediate comment about the strikes.
