Apple is expected to unveil up to seven new products at its “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, with the iPhone 17 series likely to be the main highlight. According to a report by The Indian Express, the company will also introduce new Apple Watch models and refreshed AirPods, making it one of the biggest hardware launches in recent years.
The most talked-about device is the iPhone 17 Air, Apple’s first ultra-thin iPhone carrying the “Air” branding. At just 5.5mm thick and weighing 145 grams, it will be slimmer and lighter than the iPhone 16. The model is expected to have a 6.6-inch display with 120Hz ProMotion but only a single rear camera and a smaller battery. It may replace the iPhone Plus series and cost around $899.
The regular iPhone 17 will bring brighter colors and a 24MP selfie camera. For the first time, all iPhone 17 models will feature ProMotion 120Hz displays. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to include a new processor, a 48MP telephoto lens with 8x zoom, and lighter aluminum backs.
Apple is also set to launch the Watch Series 11 with blood-pressure tracking, a new chip, and a bigger battery. The Watch Ultra 3 may add satellite connectivity for emergency use and better 5G performance.
The AirPods Pro 3 are expected to arrive with better sound, stronger noise cancellation, and a faster audio chip. But the real upgrade lies in health features. The earbuds may include heart-rate and temperature monitoring, turning them into compact health trackers. Apple is also working on real-time translation, which could make the AirPods more useful beyond just music and calls.
With sales slowing and rivals racing ahead, Apple now needs these launches to prove it can still set the trend — and not just follow it.
