The Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken possession of two luxury flats in Gulshan belonging to fugitive former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed.
The seizure was carried out under a court order issued in December last year, which directed the attachment of the flats along with other assets.
A joint task force led by ACC Deputy Director Md Moshiur Rahman arrived at the Gulshan‑2 premises around 10am Sunday. The flats were opened in the presence of an executive magistrate.
According to ACC sources, the two properties have an estimated market value of Tk18 crore and are being treated as part of the former minister’s known illegal wealth.
Investigators said that valuable furniture and other assets appeared to have been removed from the flats prior to the operation.
