The body of a 40-year-old shop owner with his throat slit was found in the South Doulatpur area of Mohanganj upazila, Netrokona district, on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Narayan Pal, son of Niru Pal from the Rautpara area of the upazila.
Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mohanganj Police Station, stated that locals discovered Narayan’s body inside his grocery shop, ‘Narayan Store,’ around 11pm and alerted the police.
The shop is located 150 yards away from the Mohanganj Police Station, according to locals.
Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of a local hospital.
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area, said the OC.
