BYD has been named Brand of the Year in the Automobiles category (Global Tier) at the 2026-2027 World Branding Awards, held at Hampton Court Palace in London recently.

The awards, organised by the World Branding Forum, evaluate nominees through brand valuation, consumer market research and public online voting. The Global Tier designation requires a brand to operate in at least 10 countries across three or more continents. BYD currently operates in more than 120 countries and regions, including Bangladesh.

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li said, “We are honoured to receive this global recognition. For BYD, building a brand means earning the trust of our customers through technology that makes a meaningful difference in their everyday lives. This award encourages us to continue innovating and working with our partners around the world to make sustainable mobility accessible to more people.”

BYD Bangladesh Chief Marketing Officer Imtiaz Nawsher said, “This global recognition reinforces our commitment to bringing world-class New Energy mobility and sustainable innovation to drivers right here in Bangladesh. It reassures our local customers that they are choosing a brand trusted by millions across the globe.”

The company remains focused on expanding its new-energy vehicle portfolio, guided by its vision to “Cool the Earth by 1°C”. BYD Bangladesh said it is translating this goal locally through initiatives such as its recent month-long “Green Drive” campaign, said a press release on Thursday.
