A family story about loneliness, strained relationships and the search for companionship has brought actors Arosh Khan and Sunerah Binte Kamal together once again. Their latest drama, ‘Duti Mon’, is receiving a positive response from viewers following its release on 29 October.
The drama premiered on the Capital Drama YouTube channel. Arosh and Sunerah have become a popular on-screen pair over the past two years, appearing together in more than 50 productions.
Directed by Russell Azam, ‘Duti Mon’ follows a young man raised in a single-parent family who tries to find a new companion for his father. As the story unfolds, long-standing resentment within the family begins to create emotional distance.
The narrative explores separation, loneliness, love and the complicated emotions that can shape family relationships.
Shahiduzzaman Selim plays the father, while Arosh Khan appears as his son. Sunerah Binte Kamal plays the son’s cousin. Golam Farida Chhonda also features in the drama.
Director Russell Azam said the story was inspired by something he had observed closely. He added that his own emotions were connected to the father-son relationship at the heart of the drama.
Sunerah said she was drawn to the story because it reflects how unresolved hurt and misunderstandings can change relationships and affect other members of a family.
“Sometimes, the relationships we care about change because of hurt feelings and resentment. This can also affect other members of the family. I personally liked the story very much, and I am happy that viewers are enjoying it too,” she said.
Arosh also believes the drama will resonate with audiences because many people may recognise aspects of their own family experiences in its story.
“This is a story that many people will find familiar. It portrays a family in which one mistake in a relationship can change the course of life. I hope viewers will enjoy it,” he wrote on Facebook.
Arosh and Sunerah have previously appeared together in several well-received dramas, including ‘Na Bola Kotha’, ‘Shaola Phul’, ‘Projapoti Mon’ and ‘Kopal’. Several more productions featuring the duo are awaiting release.
With ‘Duti Mon’, the pair have once again explored a story centred on human relationships, this time focusing on the emotional ties between parents and children.
