Police have detained Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, former information adviser to deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, from the DBC office in Mohakhali on Wednesday.
However, it was not immediately clear why Iqbal Sobhan had been detained.
Md Akhtar Hossain, deputy commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said, “Iqbal Sobhan had been taken to the Detective Branch (DB) office, but had not been shown as arrested or detained.”
“As far as I know, he was taken to the DB office to avert any untoward situation,” he added.
