Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia at their graves at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Wednesday morning.
After placing wreaths at the graves, he observed a moment of silence in their memory.
BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi welcomed the Chinese delegation and spoke about the longstanding friendly ties and diplomatic cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
BNP Vice Chairman Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Joint Secretaries General Khairul Kabir Khokon and Abdus Salam Azad, as well as senior officials of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, were present.
