The road blockade programme on tourism road in Sajek union under Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district, which has been ongoing for nine consecutive days in its third phase, will remain relaxed for one day on Sunday.
The decision was taken considering the basic needs of the local public.
Babudhan Chakma and Natun Joy Chakma announced this on Friday in a press statement sent to the media on behalf of Sajek Gano Adhikar Rakkha Committee and Sajek Karbari Association.
The press statement further informed that the indefinite road blockade programme will continue as before following Sunday.
Additionally, leaders of the two organisations stated that special relaxation will be arranged subject to discussion to enable Buddhists to smoothly observe the Kathin Chibar Dan festival.
For this purpose, religious institutions or monastery authorities have been requested to contact the blockading organisations.
