The motorcycle of former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri remains missing, days after he went out on the vehicle with a youth before his body was recovered from the Turag River.
Tahsif left his home in Uttara on Tuesday night with Dwip, a local youth who was reportedly with him before his death. River Police recovered his body from the river on Wednesday afternoon.
Tahsif’s family said they have been unable to trace the motorcycle since he left home.
His cousin, Zahir Hasan, said Tahsif took the motorcycle with him that night. “Dwip could not provide the latest information about the motorcycle. We have given the police its details and photographs,” he said.
Tahsif, the eldest of three siblings, had been involved in a motorcycle accident about a month earlier. Following the incident, his family had advised him against riding, relatives said.
Contacted on Thursday evening, Md Rezaul Karim, deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Uttara Division, told TIMES that police are searching for the motorcycle.
Tahsif’s body was recovered from the Turag River on Wednesday afternoon, and the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
