Garment workers ended their blockade of the road at Mirpur-10 in the capital after one and a half hours on Thursday.

The workers took to the road in the morning, demanding a minimum monthly wage of Tk 30,000, said Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar, deputy commissioner (DC) of the Mirpur Division of the DMP.

He confirmed that the workers left the road around 11:30am after police requested them to clear it. Traffic returned to normal after the workers moved off the road.

Around 10am, several hundred workers from a number of garment factories took to the streets.
