Ten Bangladesh cricketers have registered for the upcoming ILT20 auction, with their base prices spread across three categories.
Pace duo Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, along with leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, have been placed in the highest Bangladesh bracket with a reserve price of USD 80,000. Shakib Al Hasan leads the next category at USD 40,000, alongside Shoriful Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Hasan Mahmud.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Jaker Ali Anik have entered the auction at the minimum reserve price of USD 10,000.
The ILT20 auction is scheduled to take place in Dubai on October 1. The league has set three main reserve-price levels for players at USD 10,000, USD 40,000 and USD 80,000.
Among the Bangladesh contingent, Shakib is the most experienced ILT20 player. The all-rounder has previously featured in the competition and is listed in the official auction document with a USD 40,000 reserve price. Taskin Ahmed is also listed at USD 80,000.
The inclusion of several Bangladesh fast bowlers could attract attention from the six franchises, with Taskin, Nahid, Shoriful and Hasan offering different pace-bowling options. Rishad adds a leg-spin option, while Shakib and Miraz provide all-round skills.
However, registration does not guarantee a contract. Players must still attract bids when the auction takes place, while franchises also have squad and overseas-player requirements to consider. The ILT20 has also introduced Right-to-Match options for certain players from previous seasons.
