The Eiffel Tower reopened on Tuesday after staff ended a strike over the removal of female colleagues during a visit by a Hindu religious group, which later apologised.
Shortly before 9:30am on Tuesday, visitors were seen going through security checks at the base of the tower, according to an AFP journalist. The Eiffel Tower’s website also confirmed that the landmark was “open today”.
The iconic Eiffel Tower was closed to the public on Monday after staff went on strike following an incident in which female employees were removed from their work areas to accommodate a visiting Hindu religious delegation, according to workers and management.
The controversy emerged on Saturday during a visit by a delegation of around 100 people associated with the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
