Southeast Bank PLC has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank (BB) under a Tk41,000 crore financing facility to deploy surplus liquidity toward priority productive sectors, aiming to rein in inflation, sustain employment and drive macroeconomic recovery.
The agreement was signed on 27 August at BB headquarters, said a press release on Wednesday.
BB Deputy Governors Kabir Ahmed and Sarwar Hossain, along with Research and Data Management Director Abdul Mannan and senior central bank officials, attended the signing ceremony.
Southeast Bank was represented by Managing Director Abidur Rahman Chowdhury and Treasury Head Rashedul Alam Khan.
The financing facility is part of BB’s broader Tk60,000 crore integrated liquidity support framework, which aims to contain inflation, restore financial discipline and ensure adequate financing for productive economic activities, the press release said.
