A Dhaka court on Tuesday deferred until 24 September the hearing on framing charges against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others in a case over the alleged murder of truck driver Md Hossain during the July Mass Uprising.
The hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, but accused Zunaid Ahmed Palak could not be produced before the court from jail.
Following a time petition from the prosecution, Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 fixed 24 September for the next hearing.
According to the case documents, Md Hossain was shot in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur on 19 July 2024, while returning home after leaving his truck in the Gabtoli area.
He later died from his injuries.
Hossain’s mother, Rina Begum, filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on 31 August 2024.
Police submitted a charge sheet on 23 November 2025, against 34 people, including Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former information minister Hasan Mahmud and former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak.
