Police have arrested a murder case accused who escaped from Dhaka’s Jatrabari Police Station.
The accused, Mitu Akter, was arrested in Keraniganj around 12:10am Saturday, Inspector (Investigation) AB Siddique confirmed. She had been on a three‑day remand.
On Thursday morning, Mitu managed to unlock the station gate and flee. It was the final day of her remand, and she was scheduled to be produced in court that afternoon.
An officer of the DMP’s Wari Division said female suspects are generally not handcuffed, which Mitu exploited to escape.
Following the incident, five police personnel were suspended for negligence of duty.
