Dhallywood actress Sadika Parvin Popy has no plans to make a regular return to films, despite continued interest from fans waiting to see her back on screen.

The three-time National Film Award winner has stayed away from acting for a long time. She said she has received several offers but does not want to accept them at this stage of her life.

However, Popy has not completely ruled out acting. She said she would consider appearing in a biopic based on her life if filmmakers create a quality project with proper research.

Popy said her current priority is her family. She wants to spend time with her husband and only child, Ayat, and focus on her married life.

“If a well-made and research-based biopic about my life comes forward, I have no objection to acting in it,” she said.

The actress said such a film must honestly present different stages of her journey, including her childhood, education, participation in beauty contests, personal struggles and career in the film industry.

She added that she has many fans in Bangladesh and abroad, so a film about her life must be unique and meaningful.

Popy said family now holds the most important place in her life. She feels more comfortable focusing on her personal responsibilities rather than working regularly in films.

The actress entered the big screen with Kuli, where she starred opposite Omar Sani. The film brought her recognition and helped launch a successful career. She later became one of Dhallywood’s leading actresses through numerous commercially successful and critically praised films.

Her popular movies include Dordi Shontan, Ei Mon Tomake Dilam, Moner Milon, Praner Priyotoma, Karagar, Lal Badsha, Dujon Dujonar, Megher Kole Rod, Ki Jadu Korila and Bostir Rani Suriya, among others.

Popy achieved major recognition for her acting talent by winning the National Film Award three times. She earned her first Best Actress award in 2003 for Karagar. She later won two more awards for her performances in Megher Kole Rod and Gangajatra.
