According to NDtv report, Actor Saif Ali Khan reacted with surprise after learning that his ‘Kartavya’ co-star Yudhvir Ahlawat, who played a teenage role in the Netflix film, is actually 33 years old.
Yudhvir Ahlawat said Saif treated him as a teenager throughout the shoot. He said the misunderstanding later turned into a viral moment after Saif mentioned it in an interview.
“Saif sir was asked in an interview about his favourite scene from the film. He praised me and said, ‘Harpal is very good. I treated him like a 16-year-old.’ Then Pulkit sir, the director, told him that I am actually 33 years old. He got shocked after hearing it,” Yudhvir told Kadak in an interview.
Yudhvir said the moment quickly spread online. He added that the confusion did not end with Saif alone. He said most of the cast and crew also believed he was a child actor when filming began.
“In the beginning, everyone treated me like a child artiste. Later, Pulkit sir told everyone that I was actually 33 years old. After that, people like Sanjay Mishra sir and others started treating me like an adult actor,” he said.
The actor said he continues to receive strong audience response for his performance. He described the experience as a long-awaited moment of recognition.
“It feels amazing. People are sending me messages saying they loved my work. This is the day I was waiting for. I am replying to everyone in my DMs,” he said.
Yudhvir Ahlawat made his film debut in ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. He later appeared in ‘Shamshera’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor and acted in ‘Love Hostel’ with Bobby Deol and Vikrant Massey.
He has also performed in Feroz Abbas Khan’s stage production ‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’, staged in India and abroad. Despite being in his thirties, his youthful appearance continues to land him teenage roles.
