A woman died after being stabbed by assailants in Badda area of Dhaka. She succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 10:30pm Saturday.

Rosina Akter, 38, wife of Saudi expatriate Md Awal, was the mother of a son and daughter and lived in a rented flat in Merul Badda.

Her brother Jihad Bhuiyan said she left home around 9pm Friday to withdraw money from bKash. Shortly after, the family was informed she had been found bleeding on a road in the area. Attackers had stabbed her in the abdomen before fleeing.

She was first taken to a local hospital, then transferred to DMCH as her condition worsened. She died there later Saturday night.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body has been kept at the morgue for autopsy.

The local police station has been notified, and an investigation is underway.
