Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that the US-Iran memorandum of understanding to end the Middle East war will take immediate effect, with Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz “instantly” and the United States lifting its naval blockade of Iranian ports “immediately”.
In a post on X, Sharif said the memorandum “shall enter into force with immediate effect” and outlined the first steps under the agreement.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz at once, while the United States will immediately end its naval blockade.
Sharif said in a post that an official signing ceremony would take place on Friday. However, the post was later edited to remove that part.
