India’s BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has sparked a massive political controversy by alleging that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed several women as members of parliament (MPs) and even inducted them into the Cabinet in exchange for sexual favours.
The veteran politician made these explosive claims during a podcast discussion regarding the “Epstein files”, which sparked controversial online discourse in Indian cyberspace.
The allegations have been supported by prominent right-wing author Madhu Purnima Kishwar, who has previously written books praising Modi and comparing him to Mahatma Gandhi.
This explains why I kept a safe distance from Modi from the time he assumed power in May 2014. I did not even go to gift him a copy of my book on him. Just sent an unsigned copy through his favourite bureaucrat Bharat Lal!

In a lengthy post on the social media platform X, Kishwar asserted that she avoided meeting the Prime Minister Modi to present her book because she was already aware of his conduct towards women.
Kishwar further claimed to have heard accounts of Modi’s “luxurious” lifestyle during his visits to the United States. She specifically questioned the credentials of certain high-level appointments, citing the example of Smriti Irani, who was appointed as the Education Minister despite never having attended any college.
Apart from famous right-wing author Madhu Purnima Kishwar political analyst Tarun Gautam are two prominent figures who have shared this video. Times of Bangladesh, however, could not independently verify the authenticity of the visual content. Writer Madhu Purnima Kishwar’s post has become viral and attracted 12 million audiences while Tarun Gautam’s post attracted 3.3 million viewers on cyberspace.
