The Jamuna Bridge has collected a total of Tk 3,68,18,305 in toll revenue over the last 32 hours.
This surge in collection is attributed to a massive influx of vehicles as people from the northern districts return home to vote during the election holidays.
The Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway has experienced significant traffic pressure over the past few days.
The exodus of voters heading to their village homes has led to a consistent increase in the volume of transport crossing the bridge, subsequently boosting toll earnings.
Prabir Kumar Ghosh, the Toll Manager of the Jamuna Bridge site office, confirmed the revenue figures on Wednesday.
He noted that the high number of vehicles crossing the bridge during this 32-hour window resulted in the collection of over Tk 3.68 crore.
