Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has added nine companies to the DSE Bangladesh Broad Index (DSEX) while dropping 16 others following its annual index rebalancing for January 2026.
The changes, carried out in accordance with the index methodology, will take effect from 18 January 2026, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
After the rebalancing, the total number of constituents in the DSEX will stand at 319.
The newly included companies are Bangladesh Welding Electrodes, Dhaka Electric Supply Company, Dulamia Cotton Spinning Mills, Hwa Well Textiles (BD), Northern Islami Insurance, Safko Spinnings Mills, Sharp Industries, Standard Ceramic Industries and Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills.
The companies removed from the index are Appollo Ispat Complex, Union Capital, Meghna Condensed Milk Industries, Anlima Yarn Dyeing, Hamid Fabrics, Meghna Pet Industries, Unilever Consumer Care, Phoenix Finance and Investments, ICB Islamic Bank, MIDAS Financing, Bangladesh Export Import Company, First Security Islami Bank, Export Import Bank of Bangladesh, Social Islami Bank, Global Islami Bank and Union Bank.
Meanwhile, under the semi-annual rebalancing of the DSE Bangladesh 30 Index (DS30), Meghna Petroleum, BSRM Steels and Fine Foods have been added, while Heidelberg Materials Bangladesh, GPH Ispat and Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries have been dropped from the blue chip index, effective from the same date.
The annual rebalancing of the DSE SME Growth Index (DSMEX) resulted in no change, with the number of constituents remaining at 19.
