Notorious underworld criminal, Subrata Bain has claimed that he was kept in ‘Aynaghor’ a secret cell for two and a half years.

He made this statement while standing in the dock at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.

Subrata said, “I was kept in a ‘Aynaghor’ for two and a half years. They say I steal and snatch. Now they make up all sorts of stories about me. I don’t need any power. If I wanted, I could have set up my own TV station and kept journalists.”

“In 2022, I was blindfolded and taken away. I was held in a mirror room for two and a half years. I was released around 3 a.m. on the 5th. They hit me on the head with a rod and nearly finished me,” the underworld don added.

The court placed him on an 8-day remand in a case filed over the illegal possession of arms.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain passed the order, according to a sub-inspector present in court.

Earlier on Tuesday, at around 5 a.m., Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali and his close associate Molla Masud alias Abu Rasel Masud were arrested in a special operation by the Bangladesh Army in Kushtia.

Based on their information, two of Subrata’s associates—shooters Arafat and Sharif—were later arrested from the Hatirjheel area of Dhaka. Subsequently, a case was filed against them under the Arms Act on Wednesday.
