Bangladesh made a poor start to the series. They lost the first match at the same venue. While chasing 182, only Towhid Hridoy showed fight. He scored an unbeaten 83 from 50 balls. No one else stood firm. His innings reduced the margin, but it could not save the match.
This defeat came right after a whitewash against West Indies at home. The team needed to rise before the T20 World Cup. Instead, the graph has gone down. This same group had won four T20I series in a row. They beat Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. They beat Pakistan and Netherlands at home. They beat Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates. But the last two series have raised concern.
Litton Das had said earlier that the team would face a tough test at home. He felt it would help them before the World Cup. But the heavy loss to West Indies and the poor start against Ireland have shaken confidence. Bangladesh now need a strong response.

The first match slipped early. Bangladesh lost four wickets in the powerplay while chasing 182. Hridoy said poor shot selection is part of such a chase. He agreed that the team failed to follow their plan. He felt something better could have happened if they had stayed calm.
Bangladesh also failed to build partnerships. The first four stands were 2, 2, 1 and 13. At 18 for five, Hridoy and Jaker Ali added 48 runs. Hridoy later said a 70 or 80 run stand could have changed the match. They did not lose by a massive margin. A bigger partnership might have kept them alive.
Ireland also played good cricket. Hridoy admitted that clearly. He said Ireland played well and Bangladesh did not.
Now Bangladesh must improve. It is a do-or-die match for Litton, Jaker and Hridoy. They need calm shots, clear minds and steady partnerships. A strong performance is the only way to stay in the series.
