A magnitude-6.0 earthquake struck the Gulf of California early on Tuesday afternoon.
The earthquake, recorded at 12:45pm local time, was centred northeast of La Paz on the Baja California Peninsula and southwest of El Progreso, a port city on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, reports NBC.
People reported tremors in Los Mochis, Culiacán, Zapopan and several other areas.
Two aftershocks, measuring magnitudes 4.5 and 5.3, were recorded later on Tuesday afternoon.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
