The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its latest measles update released on Thursday afternoon.
The report said five more children died with suspected measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. However, no death was confirmed to have been caused by measles.
Since 15 March, a total of 791 children have died with suspected measles symptoms across the country. Another 99 children have died from confirmed measles infections. In total, 890 children have died from measles and suspected measles cases during this period.
Besides, 74 children were infected with measles in the past 24 hours, while the number of patients with suspected measles symptoms stood at 951. During this period, 895 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 863 patients were discharged.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases since 15 March has reached 1,40,076, while confirmed cases stand at 17,543.
Of the total cases, 1,21,908 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 1,17,690 have already been discharged and returned home.
