The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) has apprehended four top terrorists and arms dealers reportedly belonging to the “Kaiyum Group,” from the Johuri Moholla area of Mohammadpur in the capital.
During the operation, officials recovered a 7.65 mm foreign-made pistol, one magazine, and four rounds of live ammunition.
The arrests were confirmed in a press release issued by RAB-2 on Monday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Rubel Hossain alias Bhatija Rubel, 29; Md Saidur Rahman Said alias Picchi Said, 43; Md Sharif, 30; and Md Shaon, 40.
According to RAB-2, acting on intelligence reports regarding a group of dealers positioning themselves for an arms transaction, a special team conducted a raid in the Johuri Moholla area on the night of 16 August.
The four suspects were caught at the scene with the illegal weapon and ammunition.

RAB claimed that the Kaiyum Group is actively involved in various criminal activities, including the arms trade, extortion, violent clashes, and gang control across Mohammadpur’s Tikka Para, Aziz Moholla, and the Ring Road area adjacent to the Suchona Community Centre.
An investigation into their criminal records revealed that Md Rubel Hossain faces 13 cases at Mohammadpur Police Station, including three for theft, rioting, murder, and intimidation, and 10 cases under the Narcotics Control Act.
He is also accused in another narcotics-related case at Adabor Police Station.
Furthermore, Md Saidur Rahman Said is implicated in cases involving extortion, intimidation, the Arms Act, and the Narcotics Control Act at Mohammadpur Police Station. He also faces charges at Adabar Police Station for intimidation, preparation for robbery, and murder.
Legal proceedings against the arrested suspects are currently underway, and further actions regarding the seized firearms and ammunition are being processed.
