Twelve leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement from Patkelghata Thana in Satkhira have formally joined the BNP.
The joining ceremony took place on Wednesday noon at the temporary office of BNP in Patkelghata.
The individuals who joined the party include Rakibul Islam, coordinator of the Shaheed and Injured Cell (Khulna Division) of the Anti-Discrimination Movement; Rubel Hossain Babu, convener of the Patkelghata Thana branch; Nahid Hasan, joint convener; Iqbal Hasan, member secretary; Abu Raihan, joint member secretary; and Rubayet Islam Ratul, organising secretary.
Other members who joined are Sourav Bhattacharya, Azim Kha, Tamim Iqbal, Abu Sayeed, Suman Hossain, and Khadija Khatun.
Habibul Islam Habib, the BNP candidate for the Satkhira-1 (Tala-Kalaroa) constituency, welcomed the group via video conference. Rizvi Ahmed, convener of Patkelghata Thana Chhatra Dal, formally received them with floral greetings.
