Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit of Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) has served show-cause notices on 11 leaders across various residential hall units on charges of neglecting their organisational duties.
The decision was conveyed on Sunday through two separate press releases following directives from JU unit JCD Convener Zahir Uddin Mohammad Babar and Member Secretary Wasim Ahmed Aneek.
Both notices were signed by the student organisation’s Co-Office Secretary, Zahirul Islam.
The leaders issued with show-cause notices are Shaheed Rafiq-Jabbar Hall unit President Zahid Khan, Nawab Salimullah Hall unit General Secretary Firoz Ahmed Rimon, AFM Kamal Uddin Hall unit President Fahadur Zaman Shovan and General Secretary Rifat Hossain, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque Hall unit President Saif Bin Mahbub and General Secretary Firoz Ahmed Siam, Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall unit President Saidul Islam, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall unit President Firoz Ahmed Papon, Al-Beruni Hall unit President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Minhajul Islam, and Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall unit President Hamidullah Salman.
According to the notices, specific allegations of negligence were raised against these individuals despite their holding key positions within the organisation.
The leaders have been asked to explain why disciplinary organisational measures should not be taken against them for failing to properly execute their duties.
The notice recipients have been directed to submit their written explanations to the Office Secretary of the JU unit JCD within the next 48 hours.
