The Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office confirmed that Professor Muhammad Yunus will publicly read the much-anticipated “July Declaration” at 5pm on Tuesday at the National Parliament’s South Plaza.

This ceremonial reading will serve as the centrepiece of official observances marking the anniversary of the July 2024 mass uprising that fundamentally altered Bangladesh’s political trajectory.

The declaration will be delivered before a distinguished assembly including representatives from all political parties, family members of those martyred during the uprising, and activists wounded in the protests.

The event forms part of broader commemorations that will feature daylong cultural programs at Manik Mia Avenue, with the Press Wing explicitly inviting citizens of all ages – from children to senior citizens – to participate in these national observances.

This formal recognition of the student-led movement follows the interim government’s completion of the declaration draft last Saturday, nearly one year after the historic protests that precipitated the collapse of the previous administration.
