Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has warned of attempts by the defeated forces to sabotage democratic progress ahead of the upcoming national election, calling for unity among the pro-democracy forces and resistance against these destructive efforts.
“If all pro-democracy forces fail to unite, we will lose this crucial opportunity for holding a fair election,” the chief adviser said during a meeting with senior leaders of various political parties at the state guesthouse Jamuna on Saturday.
He accused defeated of trying to instigate unrest and hinder the nation’s progress whenever they get the opportunity to do so.
“Just as we advance with election preparations, conspiracies emerge. But the reality is, no conspiracy can obstruct democratic progress because all democratic forces are clearly united against fascism,” he added.
The chief adviser sought cooperation from all political parties to ensure a credible election.
In response, the participating political leaders reportedly pledged their support, assuring the chief adviser of their commitment to a peaceful and transparent election.
