A 31-year-old man went missing after being swept away by strong currents in the Dhala River of Companiganj upazila on Sunday morning while collecting firewood, UNB reports.

The victim, Aftab Uddin, son of late Shafiq Mia from Kalibari village, had gone to the river around 7 am to gather firewood when the tragic incident occurred. Local witnesses saw him being carried away by the sudden strong current and immediately alerted his family members.
