US President Donald Trump is expected to chair a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a post-war plan for Gaza, informs US special envoy Steve Witkoff. The meeting will be held in the White House.
In an interview, Witkoff commented the Trump administration is constructing a “comprehensive plan” which he says will reflect positively on the President’s “humanitarian motives”.
“We think that we’re going to settle this (war) one way or another, certainly before the end of this year,” he added, reports agencies.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday will meet Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Washington on Wednesday, according to an announcement by the State Department.
Israel’s military offensive in Gaza has killed at least 62,819 since October 7, 2023, most of the victims are women and children. Last week, the United Nations declared famine in Gaza, with the health ministry reporting the total number of malnutrition-related deaths to 186, including 117 children in the last 22 months.
