Nagad is one of the country’s leading mobile financial service providers.

The administrators and assistant administrators appointed by Bangladesh Bank did not receive any financial benefits during their tenure of managing Nagad, the company said on Tuesday .

“Instead, they carried out their government duties with the utmost responsibility,” it said in a statement.

By significantly reducing expenses across various operational sectors, Nagad said, they brought the company to a point where it could operate on its income.

“Under their leadership, Nagad set records for the highest single-day and monthly transaction volumes,” said Nagad, one of the country’s leading mobile financial service providers.

The statement said: We extend our sincere gratitude to the administrators and assistant administrators appointed by the Bangladesh Bank for elevating Nagad to its current position of strength.

Regrettably, the statement added, “we observe that a vested group has recently initiated a calculated campaign to defame Nagad and the Bangladesh Bank-appointed administrators who served the MFS operator during their time. Their targeted attacks are aimed at the administrators.

“Alarmingly, some media outlets have joined hands with this group in their smear campaign,” said the statement.

It said: Nagad hereby unequivocally declares that the administrators did not receive any financial remuneration from Nagad beyond their government-sanctioned salaries.

The administrators appointed by Bangladesh Bank took charge of Nagad on August 21, 2024 and served until May 12, 2025.
