The hit Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ may be sticking around for quite a while, as creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have hinted at a potential seven-season run and a secretive spin-off is also in early development.

After the first season’s massive success, becoming Netflix’s most-watched English-language show ever, the second season is almost here. Part one is set to premiere on August 6, followed by part two on September 3.

Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams, with Tim Burton returning to direct half of the upcoming episodes. Fans have already been given a sneak peek at the new season with the release of the first two minutes of the premiere episode, titled ‘Here We Woe Again’.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ortega and Burton confirmed that Netflix has already greenlit a third season. While both remained vague about long-term plans, Burton jokingly called them “the worst people to ask” about the show’s future. The article suggested that showrunners Gough and Millar are planning to follow Wednesday’s full seven-year tenure at Nevermore Academy, potentially extending the series to seven seasons.

Meanwhile, details about a planned spin-off are being kept under wraps. “It’s something we’re definitely noodling,” said Gough, noting that they’re exploring other characters in the Addams Family universe. Millar added, “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams Family.”

Season one received strong reviews, with NME giving it four stars and praising it as a smart reinvention. Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of the sharp-tongued goth heroine was widely applauded, despite her previously speaking about creative challenges during production, most of which now appear to be resolved.
