Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjad Ali has urged officers to win public trust by delivering desired lawful services. “We must brighten the police’s image through positive work for the people of this country,” he stated.

The commissioner emphasised: “The police are a disciplined force. There’s no scope for any undisciplined or unlawful activities here.” He made these remarks after inspecting the Grand Master Parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground on Sunday morning.

Upon arrival, the DMP chief received a ceremonial armed salute from a coordinated band squad. After accepting the salute, he reviewed various contingents, comprising members from different units.

“The main purpose of master parade is ensuring discipline among officers and force members,” Commissioner Sajjadexplained.

Issuing directives, he instructed: “Weekly workplace cleanliness drives must be maintained. Everyone must properly fulfill their duties to enhance public welfare and the police force’s reputation. Through united efforts, we can transform DMP into a more modern, dynamic, and trusted institution.”

Stressing professional commitment, the commissioner added: “Every public service task must be performed with professionalism and dedication. Face all situations with strong determination while maintaining high morale.”

He particularly instructed police members to “remain impartial” while fully dedicating themselves to public service.
