The FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 is set to take place in the city of Batumi, Georgia. From Bangladesh, International Women’s Master Wadifa Ahmed will be participating in the event. The tournament will begin on 6 July.
The Asian Zonal 3.2 Chess Championship was held last March in Sri Lanka. Wadifa emerged champion in the women’s group of that event. As a result, International Women’s Master Wadifa Ahmed qualified to participate in the World Cup. The tournament will follow a knockout format, with a total of 107 players taking part.
In the first round, Master Wadifa will play two games against France’s International Master and Women Grandmaster Deimante Daulyte-Cornette. To advance to the second round, Wadifa Ahmed will need to secure one win and one draw from the two games.
