The country now has 12,61,70,900 registered voters, Election Commission senior secretary Akhtar Ahmed said on Sunday.

Briefing reporters at the EC headquarters in Agargaon, he noted that as of 2 March, the roll contained 12,37,32,274 names. A nationwide update campaign brought in 45,71,216 new voters, while 21,32,590 names were removed, taking the total to 12,61,70,900 as of 30 June, 2025.

The supplementary draft voter list was made public at EC offices the same day, with voters given until 21 August to request corrections, add eligible names, remove deceased or ineligible entries, transfer registration, or fix errors. Upazila and thana election and registration officers will process these applications by 24 August, and the final list will be published on 31 August.

Ahmed said the supplementary roll covers citizens born on or before 1 January 2007 who registered by 30 June, with names of deceased voters excluded. An additional list will be issued including those turning 18 by 31 October, meaning the EC will prepare three separate voter lists this year ahead of the general election expected in February.
