US President Donald Trump condemns Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine as “very bad timing”, adding “I am not happy,” reports BBC.
In an update on social media, he spoke directly to Russia’s President Putin: “Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!”
Earlier, Ukraine’s President Zelensky called the strikes – which killed at least 12 in Kyiv – “difficult” and “impudent”.
During a cut-short visit to South Africa, Zelensky said “more pressure” must be put on Russia to achieve a ceasefire.
Despite Trump’s warning to Putin, things could still get worse for Ukraine, according to analysis of the BBC.
