The US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires in Dhaka Tracey Ann Jacobson visited the ongoing joint exercise “Operation Pacific Angel 25-3” at Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque in Chattogram on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the US Pacific Air Forces are conducting the seven-day exercise, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).

During the visit, Jacobson inspected various Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) sites and observed SMEE activities, such as Search & Rescue (Maritime and Flood Operations) and Crew Resource Management. She also exchanged views with members of both air forces.

Alongside senior officials of the US Embassy in Dhaka, officials and members of BAF Base Zahurul Haque and US Pacific Air Forces personnel were present at the event.

The exercise involves one C-130J transport aircraft and one Mi-17 helicopter from the Bangladesh Air Force, two C-130J transport aircraft from the US Pacific Air Forces, as well as the participation of 150 BAF members and 92 members of the US Pacific Air Forces.

The exercise will continue through 18 September.
