The opening ceremony of the joint military exercise ‘Tiger Lightning (TL)-2025’, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC),
was held today at the Para Commando Brigade, Jalalabad Cantonment in Sylhet.
According to ISPR, Deputy Commanding General of USARPAC Major General Ascot A Winter attended the event as the chief guest.
The six-day exercise, scheduled to run until July 30, 2025, is being jointly overseen by the Bangladesh Army’s Para Commando Brigade and the Nevada National Guard under
the USARPAC banner.
The exercise underscores the strong and ongoing cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States in areas including regional and global security, counter-terrorism, disaster
management, and humanitarian assistance.
As part of this strategic partnership, Tiger Lightning 2025 aims to enhance interoperability, boost joint operational capabilities, and strengthen preparedness for emerging
security challenges.
A total of 66 personnel from the Nevada National Guard and 100 soldiers from Bangladesh’s Para Commando Brigade are participating in the exercise.
Senior Bangladesh Army officials, including the director of the Army Air Defence Directorate, the director of the Military Training Directorate, and the commander of the Para Commando Brigade, were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The exercise is expected to significantly enhance the professional skills of the participating troops while further cementing the enduring military partnership between the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army.
