Students of the Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) have staged a protest by blockading the Technical intersection in the capital demanding a permanent campus.

Their protest began at 9am on Tuesday, causing severe traffic congestion.

The students claim that although they were promised a permanent campus on their own land with all educational facilities, the 5.5 acres of land allotted for it are officially registered under the name of another institution.

Despite repeated assurances from the university authorities, this has not been implemented. The protest temporarily halted traffic.

The blockade was lifted after 12:30pm following assurances from the authorities, and the situation returned to normal.
