The Bomb Disposal Unit of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) division has defused two unexploded pipe bombs recovered from the capital’s Demra area.
According to CTTC sources, the pipe bombs were recovered on Sunday at 8:30pm from an arrested suspect identified as Jewel, alias Ostad, in the West Boxnagar Nijhumbag area under Demra Police Station.
Following the recovery, the Bomb Disposal Unit arrived at the scene and deactivated the devices through a controlled explosion using detonating cords.
The operation was conducted with necessary safety measures, resulting in no casualties or damage to property.
Legal proceedings regarding the incident are currently underway.
