Two people were killed and four others injured when a speeding truck rammed into a three-wheeler at Hogladanga intersection in Khulna city on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Raihan and Jewel Babu, both residents of the Hogladanga Basharia area of the city.
Quoting locals, Babul Mia, a sub-inspector at Harintana Police Station, said the gas cylinder-laden truck lost control and crashed into the three-wheeler, leaving Raihan dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Jewel dead upon arrival. The remaining injured were undergoing treatment there, Babul Mia added.
He confirmed that Raihan and Jewel had been passengers in the three-wheeler.
