Two suspects arrested over their alleged involvement with extremist organisation ‘Fatah Combat’ have been sent to jail after completion of a six-day remand.
The accused, Shah Amanat Sabir and Hossain Tanim, were produced before a Dhaka court on Saturday afternoon after two phases of remand.
Inspector AB Siddique of Jatrabari Police Station sought their detention in jail after the remand period ended.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Albiruni Mir passed the order following a hearing, said Sub-Inspector Masum Khan of the Dhaka Metropolitan Prosecution Division.
The two were arrested from the Mini Cox’s Bazar area in Jatrabari around 6:30am on 5 July for their suspected links to the activities of ‘Fatah Combat’.

The court initially granted three days’ remand for each of them. The following day, they were placed on another three-day remand.
Earlier, four other suspects – Junaid, Ataullah Shah, Abidur Rahman and Bayezid – were sent to jail after completing remand in connection with the same case.
