Two brothers were killed in a road accident on the Feni-Noakhali regional highway in the Panchgachhia area of Feni Sadar upazila early Thursday morning
The brothers – Mosharraf Hossain, 29, and Ekram Hossain, 18, both residents of Lakshyara Ujalia Kazibari in Panchgachhia Union. The accident occurred while Mosharraf, an employee of Alvi Enterprise, was at the scene to help his company’s broken-down vehicle.
His cousin, Md Sujan, said that Mosharraf and Ekram had arrived around 3 am to assist in moving the stranded pickup off the road. Mosharraf was in the process of adjusting the rear wheels when the Noakhali-bound bus of Lal Sabuj crashed into the parked van, leading to the brothers’ deaths. He said family and friends mourn the tragic loss of two young lives.
Local residents rushed to their aid and took them to Feni General Hospital, where Mosharraf was declared dead upon arrival.
Ekram, whose condition was critical, was quickly referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), but succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Officer-in-charge of Mohipal Highway Police Station Md Harunur Rashid said they are investigating the incident of the collision and legal action in this regard was underway.
