Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has stated that the Bangladesh government will provide an “official response” to the letter sent by UK MP Tulip Siddiq. During a press briefing in London, he confirmed, “We have received the letter.”

While initially denying receipt of the letter, Alam now acknowledges its arrival. When journalists inquired about the response, he clarified, “This is a legal matter. The reply will be given through proper legal channels.”

A report in British daily The Guardian indicated that Tulip Siddiq had sent the letter requesting a meeting with Muhammad Yunus during his London visit.

Tulip has dismissed allegations of misusing power to acquire a large plot of land for herself and her mother, calling them “politically motivated.”

Meanwhile, Yunus continues his London engagements, meeting with British MPs, Airbus officials, and other dignitaries. The press secretary confirmed a scheduled meeting with Tarique Rahman on Friday.

Accompanying Yunus on this four-day visit are Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Dr Abdul Momen. During the trip, Yunus will receive the King Charles Harmony Award from King Charles III.

He also attended a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group, though Tulip Siddiq was notably absent.
