US President Donald Trump is expected to visit Pakistan in September, according to reports by agencies.
If the visit takes place, it would mark the first trip by a sitting US president to Pakistan since 2006, when George W. Bush visited the country.
Pakistan’s foreign office said it had no official information on the matter. A spokesperson stated, “We are not aware of any scheduled visit by President Trump at this time.”
The reports also claim that Trump plans to travel to India after his stop in Islamabad.
Relations between the US and Pakistan appeared to improve recently following an unusual meeting between Trump and Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the White House last month.
